The case was an allegation of driving with excess alcohol but was far from straight forward due to a car crash and serious head injury causing hospitalization and memory loss.

The prosecution seemed to attempt to lengthen the whole process by applying for multiple court dates to be vacated and not having the correct police evidence available.

It was 14 months overall which was 14 months of hell for me. The cynic in me suspects that these were tactics to try to wear me down both mentally and financially.

Millers were thorough when examining the case from the start and although the strategy changed direction a few times along the way, the star barrister was able to negate the final trial with the way he handled the trial management hearing a few days before it.

The prosecution discontinued their case against me because they didn’t have enough evidence to provide them a realistic prospect of conviction. I feel this would only have happened because of the issues that Millers and the barrister raised with their case and it gave me confidence whenever I had to attend the court, which would have been a daunting experience if I was doing it on my own. Without Millers and because of the memory loss I may well have believed the Police version of events and pleaded guilty because of the pressure placed on me in court.

I’m grateful for what my solicitor at Millers achieved as it’s now given me a new lease of life and has taken away the dark cloud that was following me around for 14 months.
