My son tested positive for a roadside drug test, for Cocaine in October 2023, and our lives went into a flat spin. If you are reading this, I assume you are probably in the same position?
After speaking to a few solicitors, none filling me with confidence, I contacted Geoffrey Miller and I was immediately put through to Jeanette Miller, who appears to deal with most initial contacts. I have never met Jeanette, but she has a special way with people in this situation, once you speak with her you will understand what I mean. Within 10 minutes I knew I had made the right call and felt like a weight was being lifted.
Lots of details are taken as expected at a convenient time, and we were assigned Louis Young as our Case Worker. Louis was fantastic throughout, always available when needed and worked diligently throughout the Case. Don’t expect daily, weekly or even monthly updates, this is what you are paying for, they work to give you the strongest case possible, and you just get on with your life! It sits in the back of your mind obviously, but rest assured you could do nothing more to improve the result of the case.
January 2024, Mike McKeown was our advocate for the first hearing, this was all new to us, but Mike quickly put us at ease and completely controlled the situation for us, again we just needed to relax and let them deal with the hearing, all very professionally carried out and actually quite interesting, to watch a true professional at work.
July 2024, Trial day, our Counsel, Mr Richard Saynor is an absolute master of his craft, polite, quiet and unassuming but believe me, he knew EVERYTHING about this case and how it was going to play out, unfortunately due to a late absence of one of the key witnesses we were on a knife edge between Dismissal and Adjournment, after over 10 minutes of flip flopping around the District Judge decided to Adjourn, not ideal but out of everyone’s control, if the court decides to adjourn, then that’s that.
January 2025, Second trial day, the CPS had done literally nothing between the first and second trial dates, we probably only spoke to Louis twice in the 6 month period, nothing changed, nothing to report, carried on with life. Our counsel was again Mr Richard Saynor and he was as ready as ever, within 30 minutes the case was dismissed without the trial even starting, and that was the whole ordeal over!
We are just an ordinary family who found ourselves in unfamiliar territory, if you are going through the start of this nightmare, you will not regret using Geoffrey Miller to represent you! I am not going to pretend the service is cheap, it isn’t, but the professionalism you receive and the sheer peace of mind to carry on with your daily life’s, whilst they deal with this issue for you, is worth every penny!
