- Drink driving
When I was accused by the police of driving under the influence of alcohol, having decided to challenge the charge, I started looking for a solicitor. Like everyone else I guess I asked my friends and as can be expected there were a lot of stories about friends of friends who had done well in similar circumstances, but there was nothing to convince me. I believe that if you are thinking to challenge a driving charge you should either do it properly or just plead guilty and take a reduced punishment.I chose a firm of solicitors who specialise in driving offences because I believe that is the best course of action. I am not a wealthy person but I do believe that employing a specialist in any field usually works out best in the long run.
My case ran from May 2008 until the end of October 2010, but this was due to the thoroughness of my defence and the actions of the prosecution (which needed specialist knowledge to interpret!) So Geoffrey Miller was my researched choice in 2008 and they would be my choice again now having worked with them and certainly my recommendation to anyone wanting to defend themselves properly.
The solicitor who dealt with my case has a tremendous knowledge of who the right barristers are and which expert witnesses will add the most weight to an argument. More impressive than knowing who they are is that the Geoffrey Miller team have a relationship with the right barristers and experts because they are all specialists in their field. I felt myself to be very well informed throughout the long process and was happy always that the right preparation was done at each stage - I could not fault a thing - even though I was obviously really anxious! The team put together to defend me were superb and the strategies they employed over the period were just what I needed – I was acquitted! I hope not to be in any situation where I am accused of a driving offence again, but if I was I would not look around for a solicitor, I would simply call Geoffrey Miller in the full confidence that if any defence were possible then they would find it.
