Ms R White
No Insurance
- No Insurance
"Dear JeanetteThank you for your efforts in dealing with my case. I truly am delighted with the services offered by Geoffrey Miller Solicitors and the professionalism of your company. The outcome was the best possible resolution (which I am delighted with). This was the BEST money I've spent in a LONG time! - regards - Becky White, Managing Director, Staffordshire."
Ms White is the MD of a company in the UK. She was recommend to Geoffrey Miller Solicitors by her commercial lawyers when she was faced the nightmare of receiving between 6-8 points for causing or permitting a driver to drive without insurance.
This allegation arose from an administrative oversight on the part of the hire car company she used for her business. She had arranged for a hire vehicle to be supplied for some visiting US based colleagues to drive while they were visiting in the UK. When one of the personnel using the car returned to the states, she changed the hirer details over the phone but the subsequent hire agreement was not updated reflecting this.
Prior to our involvement, the Police had indicated they intended to pursue Ms White personally for the serious offence of "causing or permitting" a driver to drive the vehicle without insurance. This offence carries a significant penalty of between 6-8 penalty points and a whopping maximum £5000 fine.
Geoffrey Miller Solicitors got involved and took a detailed statement from Ms White and drafted a full letter of explanation to the police and also took over an enquiry with the hire company.
Within a matter of days of sending our letter we received confirmation from the police that no further action as going to be taken against Ms White or the US drivers of the vehicle.
This is exactly the kind of situation, senior partner, Jeanette Miller, wrote about on the confused.com blog:

Thanks to Becky's decision to hire us even before she received a formal summons, the police took a common sense view in this case and chose not to pursue her further.
