Can DVLA force drink drivers to take a medical?

Tuesday 13th December 2011
We have seen a rise in enquiries over the last week about this issue and have published a new drink driving blog post to properly explain the issues involved and the options available.

In short, the DVLA has failed to exercise its discretionary power to force convicted drink driving motorists classed as high risk offenders due to the level of alcohol found to be in theoir system, to cooperate with a medical examination.

Many convicted motorists are now concerned about their rights having received their licence back yet now also receiving a request to have a medical.

Read the statement delivered by Mike Penning MP on the issue and tune in to Radio 4's You and Yours on Monday 19th December 2011  from 12pm to hear Miss Justice herself speak about this issue.
